Minimum Rooftop Photo Requirements (Hurricane)

Use this checklist to document roof installations for FORTIFIED® Roof evaluation. Clear photos from all required angles help avoid delays during review.

Roof Deck Nail Pattern

4 photos total (one from each side)

  • Show 4-inch nail spacing

  • Include a tape measure and visible chalk/tic marks

  • Minimum 13 nails across a 4-foot span

Underlayment

Submit one of the following options:

Ice & Water Shield

  • 4 photos (one from each side)

Taped Seams

  • 4 photos (one from each side)

Synthetic Felt

  • 4 photos (one from each side)

  • 2 close-up photos of nail pattern

  • 6 inches along all laps

  • 12 inches in the field

Drip Edge

4 photos (one from each side)

  • Show drip edge and nail pattern

  • 4-inch nail spacing, staggered

Roof Pitch

1 photos

  • Show minimum roof slope

  • Use a T-square, phone app, or measuring device

Starter Strip

4 photos (one from each side)

Roof Covering

4 photos (one from each side)

  • Taken during installation
