There’s a lot that goes into creating the most effective, most efficient exercise system in the world. We’ve answered some of the most frequently answered questions about Koko FitClub and the Koko Smartraining System below. Still have questions? How much does a Koko FitClub membership cost?

We have convenient annual and month-to-month membership types, as well as options working with, or without a coach. Our goal is to help you find a program that will match your needs, goals, and budget. The best way to learn more about what membership is right for you is to schedule a time to come in for a tour or a free trial workout, where you can learn more about what we do, and discuss options with a Koko FitCoach.

Where are you located and when are you open?

You can find our staffed hours, member-only hours, address and contact information on our home page, or call the club for details. Most clubs provide member access 365 days/year.

I want to join. How can I get started?

You can reach out to the club by phone or email anytime. Or, you have never been in, you can download a free guest pass to schedule your visit. Your club will contact you to set up an appointment for you to meet with a FitCoach to set up your membership and personalize your training plan for you.

I’m not ready to join, but I do want to see it for myself. What should I do?

What kind of exercises do you do at Koko FitClub?

We focus on the fundamentals of fitness; strength training and cardio training. Each member works through a personalized program, that is customized, based on goals and abilities. We’re unlike any other gym in the area, with a proven individualized coaching approach to exercise and nutrition, based on decades of exercise science.

Total-body strength training and interval-based cardio training are often regarded as the most effective and efficient ways to exercise. Workloads and rest times are precisely managed. Every movement is choreographed to squeeze out wasted time, to keep your heart rate elevated, and to ensure that each exercise or phase compliments what came before and what comes next.

Of course, all this requires a level of expert planning and minute-to-minute coaching that is out-of-reach for most people on their own. That’s why we invented Koko FitClub. Our certified coaches and patented Koko Smartraining System do all the planning, customization and guidance for you, with 1:1 coaching every step of the way.

Does Koko really work?

Yes. Our digital technology and exercise algorithms are built around the same techniques used by Olympic athletes and top personal trainers to get athletes and celebrities in amazing shape in the least amount of time. And we have the data to back it up! We strength test our members periodically to me sure the program is working as it should. Our average member strength gain after just 3 months of Smartraining is around 19%. Check out our testimonials page to see what others are saying!

Will I need to do other exercises besides my Koko workouts?

You can, but you won’t need to. Every Koko Smartraining session is a full-body workout. Done consistently, Koko can easily be your only workout and you’ll see great results in just 2-3 sessions per week.

Of course, we certainly won’t talk you out of going for a swim, run or hike, and just taking a walk on a sunny day is always a good idea. We bet you’ll even enjoy those activities more with the fitter, stronger body you can build with Koko!

How much time does a workout take?

Koko Strength sessions are designed to be completed in about 30 minutes. Some might be a little more, some might be a little less, but we design each workout for maximal efficiency, so you get results without a huge time commitment. Most strength workouts focus on a circuit-training style, where you keep moving throughout, working one muscle group while you rest another, so you never rest your whole body. The unique design of our Koko Smartrainer allows for circuit training in one place, so you don't have to move from station to station. This cuts out wasted time, allowing you to get more done in less time.

Koko Cardio sessions are interval-based; this means you vary the intensity throughout the workout. For example, you might do a couple minutes on the treadmill at a faster pace, or with a higher incline (something you couldn't sustain for long) then come back down and catch your breath before the next work interval. Working with these varied bouts of higher intensity has been proven to burn maximal calories and improve cardiovascular health. Because of the higher intensity, our interval workouts are typically in the 15 - 18 minute range - which is plenty!

Since our strength and cardio workouts are designed for efficiency, you can get in and out of the club quickly, making it easier to fit Koko workouts in, and stay consistent over time - which is the key to success in fitness!

Koko manages all the key elements of every workout; intensity, workload, and pace. The result is a full-body strength and cardio workout completed in about one third of the time of traditional methods. And best of all, each workout is customized to each individual, to help you stay consistent and get results.

Are there any staff people at Koko or is this only digital?

At Koko FitClub, our technology is truly amazing....but it's the people, the incredible, caring staff that make our business work. Our team of friendly, helpful, certified FitCoaches are here to help you learn how to lift weights properly, get comfortable with our Smartraining system, answer questions, and support you in every way possible.

How can you be so much more affordable than personal trainers?

At Koko, we have figured out the formula, combining incredible technology, with people who care about your success. Our Smartraining system provides the structure, personalization, planning, and step-by-step guidance through each workout the previously was only available with traditional personal training. We’ve harnessed the power of digital technology to deliver every custom workout through a simple interactive touch screen. Our software automatically tracks your progress and adjusts your workouts accordingly. So whether you choose to work out independently with our digital coaching technology, or work 1:1 with a certified FitCoach, you’ll always have coaching on your schedule and at the right level for your goals. With Koko, you get coaching, support, and a customized plan included in your monthly membership.

How does your gym compare to the inexpensive traditional gyms?

Koko is totally different. We've yet to find another gym that offers the combination of efficiency, results, and competitive price. While our membership prices are a fraction of the cost of traditional personal training, we're the first to admit we can't compete on price with some of the so-called "high value, low price" gyms. Maintaining our incredible technology and amazing team doesn't work with a $10/month price point, especially considering that most Koko FitClubs can only fit about 200 - 400 members (compared to thousands in those bigger clubs). But our smaller size is one of the things that makes us unique. We can get to know each and every member. We can get to know your goals, challenges, and how we can help you be successful. And how much value are you getting if you don't go? Attendance at Koko is much higher than it is in traditional gyms because we do everything we can to remove obstacles and help our members get their workouts in consistently (did we mention consistency is the key to success in fitness?).

I’m a runner/biker/swimmer/triathlete. Will this work for me?

Absolutely. Koko FitClub programs are perfect for cross-training, and regular strength training should be part of any exercise or training program - strength is the foundation we need to support all physical activities. Because Koko workouts are personalized, we will build your workout to appropriately challenge you based on your fitness level. Koko dynamically manipulates exercise pace, progression & periodization to give you the added strength and endurance to set personal records!

I just want to lose weight. Can you help me?

Absolutely. Weight loss requires a combination of healthy eating and exercise. With Koko, you get a personal online nutrition plan — called Koko Fuel — plus a customized exercise plan tailored to your body and your specific weight-loss goals. And, you have 1:1 coaching in-club and online to help you through it all. Adding strength training can help turbo-charge your metabolism so you burn calories at a higher rate throughout the day — helping you burn fat and lose weight even faster.

Is Koko for men or women?

Koko FitClub is for everyone. Since every workout is customized to each member based on individual goals and strength level, anyone can benefit from Koko Smartraining. Men, women, young and old can workout side by side at Koko – and each person gets a different workout and an individualized coaching experience. Whether the goal is weight loss, muscle building or sculpting and toning, Koko creates a plan that is just right for YOU.

How challenging is a typical workout?

Each Koko session is completely customized to be at the right level of intensity for you for maximum results. Koko gives you the perfect blend of customized direction and 1:1 coaching. Koko pushes you when you need it, and provides you with appropriate time to rest, recover and recharge. And you can always adjust the intensity. If you're not feeling your best, or didn't get a good night's sleep, you can alway reduce your weights within a workout, and our Smartraining technology remembers changes to customize within that workout. On the other hand, if you're feeling great, you can always push yourself harder and your program will adapt accordingly. Just keep in mind, we build progression into every program, so as you get stronger, your work loads will increase, but only to appropriate levels and at an appropriate pace.

Do you work with companies to build professional partnerships?

Yes! If you own or manage a company in our area, we’d love to discuss fitness benefits for your employees, or work together to promote healthy living in our community.

Do you have programs for people with chronic health concerns?

If you are a doctor, or your doctor has recommended exercise to help manage a chronic health condition, Koko offers specialized progressive training programs called HealthTracks, specifically designed for people with specific medical conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, breast cancer recovery, back pain relief and men’s health.
